Willard Owls hit the course for the first annual Fun Run

Willard Owls hit the course for the first annual Fun Run

Willard Elementary School students laced up their sneakers Friday, Sept. 25, for the school's first annual Fun Run, a day built around movement, school spirit and community support. Gym classes within each grade were combined so students could run together. Participants ran, walked, skipped or rolled around the course while volunteers cheered them on and helped count laps. Family and friends also lined the route to root for their Owls. The Fun Run raised money for the One Fund, and every donation brings the school closer to its schoolwide goal. As milestones are reached, all Willard students unlock rewards, including extra recess, a popcorn party, pajama day and popsicles and music at recess.

To help us reach our donation goal, you can view the Fun Run website here.

Thank you to the families, friends, neighbors and volunteers who made the day a success.

Because this was Willard's first Fun Run, organizers hope it becomes a tradition. Mark your calendars, Owls. We will see you next year!
